In Washtenaw County, where nearly 1 in 7 residents live below the poverty line and the community ranks among the most economically divided in Michigan,  families face daily challenges to meet basic needs and access resources. That’s where Community Action Network (CAN) steps in.

MISSION
STATEMENT

CAN partners with children, youth, and families from under-resourced Washtenaw County neighborhoods to create better futures for themselves and improve the communities in which they live.

Our Afterschool Programs and Educational Summer Camps engage students in discovery where we ensure academic support, provide nutritious meals, and help students develop critical skills.

We stabilize families by connecting them to vital resources, providing basic needs, and distributing over 1 million pounds of food annually at our 6 food pantries.

And we don't stop there - CAN families begin to thrive through additional opportunities like access to warm clothing, community gardens, holiday assistance, backpacks for their kids, and so much more.

This impact is only possible when neighbors like you get involved. Together, we can create safe spaces for kids to learn, families to thrive, and communities to grow stronger.

Join the CAN family today by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word!
