Northside serves as Community Action Network’s administrative building and is also used as a community center.  CAN does not offer programs at Northside, but it manages the building and facilitates the service offerings from other agencies, including three weekly Emergency Food Distributions by Catholic Social Services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Community Action Network is committed to the pursuit of environmental sustainability. Due to systemic inequity, under-resourced, BIPOC, and disabled communities are often the first to experience the extensive tolls of pollution, climate change, and environmental/natural disasters.

We are excited to announce that in partnership with the City of Ann Arbor A2Zero Initiative, Northside became Ann Arbor's first solar powered 'resilience hub.' In the event that there is a power outage in the neighborhood, the food stored onsite for distribution will remain good in fridges/freezers that will continue to run and community members who need access to electricity will be able to access it in this building.
