Closure Updates

Community Action Network adheres to the same closure policies as Ann Arbor Public Schools (and Lincoln Consolidated Schools for Brick Community Center). This means, for most of our community centers, if AAPS are closed, so are we.

In the case of the recent announcement that there are confirmed cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Michigan, AAPS (and CAN) are closely following the CDC Guidelines

March 23

Governor Whitmer instituted Executive Order No. 2020-21, which states that residents remain in their places of residence to the maximum extent feasible, which will take effect on March 24, 2020 and will continue through April 13, 2020.

CAN's food programs at Bryant, Arrowwood Hills, Green Baxter Court, and Hikone will remain in operation during this time, but center hours will be shifting to maintain the safety of our families, staff, and volunteers. CAN's After School Programs will remain closed when AAPS and Lincoln Consolidated are closed, which as of today, will be through April 13.

Please view a community center's web page to check the most up-to-date center hours.

Thanks to the incredible support and collaboration with Food Gatherers, AAPS, and other community organizations and volunteers, CAN will also be able to adjust food orders and increase deliveries to help fill more of the community need.

How can you help?

1. Donate financially to our food program (

2. Donate food or hygiene items to any CAN location (center information linked above)

3. Make a Meal: prepare a meal/snack for students (

If you or anyone you know needs food please direct them to:

CAN's Bryant Community Center Market (3. W. Eden Ct., Ann Arbor, MI 48108) which is open to all Washtenaw County residents. (

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your respective community center director. Their contact information can be found on the center's web page (linked above).

We will continue to update you if anything changes.

Thank you and please stay safe,
