Summer Camp Program Volunteer

Serve as a role model for rising 1st-6th graders in our 6-week summer camp.

Summer Camp runs Monday–Thursday, June 23-July 31

Volunteers build supportive relationships, assist with educational activities, promote social-emotional growth, and foster an inclusive, flexible, and collaborative environment.

Locations Accepting Volunteers: Bryant & Hikone

Commitment: A minimum of 2 hours per week with a consistent weekly schedule.

Requirements: Volunteers (18+) must complete a background check.

Summer Camp Enrichment Group Volunteer

This is a good fit for a person or group who wants to lead activities that enrich the robust curriculum already provided to children in CAN’s educational programs. 

Summer Camp runs Monday–Thursday, June 23-July 31

Some examples include reading, science experiments, literacy, naturalist activities, music, and art.

 

Commitment: Depends on volunteer availability and CAN community needs.

Requirements: Volunteers (18+) must complete a background check.

Food Distribution Volunteer

Perfect for individuals or small groups (2-5 people) interested in supporting food security and family stabilization. Volunteers help unload food trucks, inspect and organize food, prepare food bags, and distribute food to community members.

Volunteer Times by Location: 
Arrowwood Hills- 2nd Friday of the month from 8:30 am-Noon
Brick- Thursdays from 9 am-11 am
Bryant- Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays from 9 am-Noon
Creekside Court- 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 1 pm-3 pm
Green Baxter Court- Every other Wednesday from 12:30
 pm-2:30 pm 
Hikone- Every other Wednesday from 12:30 pm-3 pm

 
Commitment: Each distribution requires a minimum commitment of one semester or more. (For the Bryant location, a minimum of once per week is required.)

General Community Projects & Drives

CAN welcomes volunteers with diverse skills and interests! Our team will help match your strengths with community needs. Here are ways you can get involved:

Community Projects

  • Community clean-ups (August)

  • Gardening and seasonal prep

  • Donating healthy snacks

  • Collecting food, personal care, and cleaning supplies for emergency pantries

  • Supporting community events (donating food, supplies, or leading activities)
     

Annual Drives

  • Providing food for summer camp

  • Donating school supplies

  • Contributing Thanksgiving meal baskets and gift cards

  • Giving holiday gifts based on children’s wishlists
