CAN's Response to Covid-19

The impact of this dangerous virus and the response to reduce its spread has been felt around the globe. We are doing all we can to support under-resourced children, youth, and families through this difficult time. Specifically, we are rallying to provide more food and basic resources than ever before, to provide out-of-school educational support (which includes daily social-emotional wellness checks and exercises), and to continue to cultivate a safe community within our neighborhood spaces. Families know we have their backs and they can always come to us with any concern they may have or simply for a chance to safely interact with others in a time that can feel very isolating for many.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for jumping into action to support families who were already striving to overcome many barriers.

But, we are still in the thick of it and we still need your support!

In conjunction with the AAPS and Lincoln Consolidated school districts, as well as other vital community partners, CAN will continue to ensure its students have access to working devices and Internet, supplies, and tutoring/mentorship support throughout the year. Our goal has always been and continues to be to ensure our students are given every opportunity to succeed.

How can you help?

  • Give a financial gift to keep our programs and services in operation so we can continue to provide ongoing support to hundreds of families in Washtenaw County

  • Donate food or hygiene items (Head to Donate Items to view suggested lists)

  • Volunteer with our After School Programs or with the CAN Market opportunities at multiple CAN sites
