Program Description

Middle-school aged youth from CAN's communities go on elaborate scavenger hunts around Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti to learn how to navigate the public transportation system independently and familiarize themselves with the cities. Participants who earn enough points can go on a CAN-sponsored trip to Cedar Point at the end of the program.

Skills Gained:

  • Map/GPS reading and navigation

  • Time management

  • Following directions

  • How to travel without an adult and behave in public areas

  • Working with a team of peers

  • Familiarity with Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, including the stories behind buildings and landmarks

  • Confidence!
